Concept and Choreography Aydın Teker

Sound and Performance
Jun Kawasaki

Produced by
Kiki Arts Project

db-ll-bass is a highly unique movement-sound performance piece. In the past year, Aydin Teker and Jun Kawasaki have continued to reexamine the historical relationships between the body and a musical instrument—the distance between them, the contact between them, the rules of interconnections, etc.—in order to reconstruct a more free and dynamic relationship between them, as well as to gain new sounds from those relationships. The piece is not “dance” or just “music.” Rather, it is an attempt to present a new creativity underlying human behavior and human-created sound which each serve as an extension of the other.
After the premier in Istanbul, the piece will be performed in Tokyo and Yokohama, Japan, in February 2013.
